I felt it was a bit of a let down. Sure the story line has good ideas, but there is nothing holding me to the story.

It just took a mature twist a little too sharply. They should have worked it over time. Sure the whole love story in every Final Fantasy game thing was old, but it worked.

I just think they could have done more to draw you in to the story line than they did.
It just starts out too slow, and never really speeds up. All it really seems to have is good looks, they cold have improved in so many places.

But yes, all-in-all I enjoyed the game greatly - it has it flaws but still is a good rpg I'd say.

I'm only about 1/3 into the game but I'm enjoying it so far. The story isn't strong enough for my liking and it's safe to say I don't even know why my party is headed to this tomb thing but the game is pretty good.

It wasn't how the battle system was executed, it was just that they failed to mix it up a little bit. I never get bored of fighting in the other games, but this one, I just couldn't get hooked. I really preferred the old turn based battle system over this new one. Some people were blessing that random battles were one, but I look at it, and now it is even harder to stay away from enemies. Sure you can run away, but as soon as you go back into the area, the monsters would still be there, thus defeating he whole no more random battles purpose.

In short, either they should have changed the system slowly, say over the course of a few games, possibly starting with FFX, or they should have just stuck with the old system. After over 10 years of using the same battle system, I feel they brought this new one just too quickly.

all the battle systems werent the same. each time they had an inovative way of making the battling.

its all ATB but there not the SAME.

FF7A and 10 battle system is differen so is FF8 and 9.

Well, what I ment in the end was that they always used ATB with random encounters. ATB with no random encounters seems almost pointless.

If you have played Tales of Symphonia, that game has one of the best battle systems I have ever used. FFXII was getting towards that system, but the ATB makes the difference in a bad way in this case.
