Also, the Ultima spell is VERY easy to get. >.> You go to that icey/underground city? Where ya have to take the elevator? Anyways, before that there are people huddled around a Draw Point (Ultima) Buy it, draw it, leave the area, fight a battle or two, go back, buy it again, ect..

Or simply draw em' from Ultima/Omega Weapon ^^. I got all 200 stocked from the weapon at Underwater deep sea research, another 100 from island closest to hell and heaven. Agree that the spell is fairly easy to obtain.

I would love to see a remake on FFVIII too, but the chance of that happening is almost none...sadly. Don't think S.Enix gonna waste their time remaking classic FF games except for FFVII, no news for the remake either.

Drawing them from Ultima weapon is what I did (Ultima weapon is the one in the Underwater Deep Sea Research, right?); it was the easiest and the fastest way for me. It could take a while to draw them from Island closest to heaven and island closest to hell.

It mighta taken a while but it was easy, lol... It was like "Hey, everyone's gathered around a Draw point.. pay to use it? Sure, why not.. WTF.. Ultima?!?!" XD And considering it was on the side of the road that's used as part of the main quest (not that there are many side quests...) it was just like they handed it to you..

Now the Golden Chocobo that you can suposedly run on water and get to places you can't even get using Ragnorak? I haven't even found yet. >.>

Also, I wish they would have made Apocalypse a frekin Draw point so I could eeeqqqquuuiiipp itttt.. >.<

And ANOTHER side note.. They probably won't remake it.. They'd need like, 90% of the fanbase to say "If you remade it, I would buy it" and S. Enix would say "Well if we're gonna make money off of it, why not?" Which is odd cause the story line is there and everything, they'd just have to revamp the graphics and throw in random crap lol. Hell, they already have the voice for Squall, errr, "leon" from Kingdom Hearts, lol... god.. I'd kill for a remake.. I'd kill all of Capcom for a remake.. and I love capcom.. *sniffs*

THOUGH, they may do what like, Devil May Cry did? Devil May Cry 1, 2, and 3 were sold in a box for it's 5 year anniversary or something like that.. Same with Sonic and Mega Man, though they were classic games. >.> Square enix may make a box of FF VII, VIII, and IX? Or just FF VII and FFVIII then throw in the FFVII movie.. (I do'nt think IX was as big as a hit as 7 and 8 were)

Oh, and sorry for commenting on so many different things and making so many small paragraphs. o.0 But who remembers the random alien encounter? I'm talking where you get into a battle on a beech, and there'd be no monsters.. and you'd wait. then you'd see a UFO carrying something in it's beam, and it kinda moves from one side of the screen to another, then the battle ends? I have to look it up because I believe it was 6 different encounters and you'd get some card outa it or something. o.0 But I thought it was a glitch at first. XD

I’ve been killing for a FFVII remake since very long years and till this very day there are those people who say that the much anticipated remake for the PS3 is only a rumor and it won’t be released. I stopped keeping up with its news since I’ve grown to know Square Enix very well by its actions. They know a remake of FFVII will make a huge profit to them but they continue to torture fans… they are torturers-money-lovers :x
This is just… :roll

So you probably should wait like at least 30 years for Square Enix to make a decision about a remake for FFVIII. And after you’ve waited for 30 years… the much anticipated answer will probably be …. “Maybe… we need to make more research about how much the approximate profit is going to be” and what they don’t realize is that half of the fans by then are already dead :P
My point is; it’s useless to hope for a remake.

By the way; I think FFIX was far better than FFVIII; sure the graphics aren’t as good as they are in FFVIII but personally I think the entire system in FFIX overcome the one in FFVIII. FFIX comes in second place after FFVII, at least for me.

Yeah I remember the UFO, you kill about five of them I think then you fight PuPu and waste some of your precious Elixirs on him and all you end up gaining is its card :roll.
Your point…?

>.> My point is that the UFO was extremely unexpected... And you really didn't need your elixers anyways. If you rushed through the entire game, you could beat Ultima (The final boss and all her forms) with just 3 people and 1 hour of your time.

As for the remake, true it probably won't ever happen. They'll see other plans that will make more of a profit, such as more-focusing on Kingdom Hearts franchise... And with how big FFXII was, they are obviusly learning of what's working and they'll hopefully keep what works and try new things to improve it.

As for IX being better than VIII? The only thing better is Vivi. >.> All the characters were kids... Even the enemy seemed shorter than 5 feet. And I think the leap between VII and VIII, they introduced Semi-life-like CGI.. So inbetween VIII and IX they should have introduced voice-overs, but they didn't. And the graphics, half the time, seemed a downgrade from VIII's cut scenes. the story line seemed to make less sense than VIII, but I guess the title is "Final FANTASY" so even if they made midgets slaying orcs to rip out pixie wings from their guts for a doule sword made by a talking dragon, they'd have every right to. o.0

And I liked drawing and equiping magic... Though I think depending on what spell it was and where you equiped it should have changed your look a bit (would be an awesome addition to a remake) but they just picked up a weapon that had skils already built into the weapon, they just had to learn them. o.0

I think its one of the fans demand that FFIX's kiddy characters designed to be like FFVII's.

I probably don’t need Elixers and won’t need it later in the game, but it’s always good to see them in my item list. I sometimes buy items I don’t need, some are completely worthless, just because I want to see my item list complete. I never had a Gil problem in FFVIII since gaining a huge amount of them is easily made after finishing the SeeD Tests.

Oh and; the name of her is Ultimecia and an hour is a really long time :P

FFXII wasn’t anywhere near “big” but if they are going to make some serious improvements I guess future games could actually be something, though I doubt it.

Graphics, graphics, graphics… if everyone were to judge the game based on its graphics then the games on PS2 would definitely win. I don't care much about the characters' graphics as long as the characters' developments are alright. Most of the characters in FFVIII annoyed me, the ones in FFIX didn't, and I really liked the friendship between them, the only thing that didn't make sense to me was Eiko's age, she was six or something. I agree with you on Vivi; he is a.w.e.s.o.m.e :jive. As for the storyline; it’s a story and everyone prefer different kinds of stories, and it’s not supposed to make sense since it’s ‘Fantasy’ like you said.

I am not saying FFVIII is horrible, I just prefer FFIX over it.

And I'm not saying FFIX sucks, but I am saying it has flaws.. I agree, graphics aren't everything.. Devil May Cry 1 and 2 both had better graphics than 3, yet 3 had better controls for action and mobility so I liked it better. However there's no reason to downgrade graphics either... Sequels are suppose to be improvements on the game before it, yet all they really did was make a completely new game and stopped the Graphic's development earlier than they did FFVIII.

And FXII may not have been as popular, but it had major improvements, such as no-random battles, you'd walk towards a monster.. Over 150+ hours EASILY... Boss's that are way outa the way.. rare monsters.. ect..

Though I do not like the 'builds' of the characters.. If you leveled up Balthier to level 99 using guns, and started over and leveled him to 99 using magic, his stats would be the same... Felt less like an RPG that way. =/ At least FFVIII you could equip things to like, "Add +1 Str per level"

The idea of the battle system in FFXII was very good, but the developers didn’t introduce it to the game properly, the battles ended up being very easy that the players themselves could leave the controller on the side and just watch, it ended up being boring. It probably could have been the best but sadly it didn’t.

FFVIII’s system was somehow good considering they were trying to improve it, but battles were… easy… I leveled up all my characters to level 100 very fast, especially when you get to island closest to heaven and island closest to hell.

I agree FFXII, the main story, is easy... I used the same three characters, Vahn, Fran, and Balthier the entire time.. Even with their original class of weapons... If you control Vahn and have him be a hard-hitting character, Fran and Balthier can be long-range supporters, as well as decent healers...

However if you go off the beaten path, some of the "Marks" are hard... And I have yet to get to the Omega weapon, though I guess there is some monster with over 1 million hp on top of it... Not to mention to actually get to level 99 would take you a very long time.. I've only hit low 80's and I've been playing for 157 hours...

Anyways, I still liked the fighting, even if they should have done a battle similar to the first Dot Hack series, where you'd get into "Battle Mode" when you are near an enemy, however you have to press a button to attack instead of adjusting the AI of your character to attack the nearest enemy lol.

And FFVIII, pure rush, gives you less than level 60 when you reach the final boss... I know it isn't that hard to get to max level, but I think it was decent... Though they did have money issues.. You always had too much money and nothing to spend it on. >.< (They shoulda made a Card Shop)

Now Kingdom Hearts was really easy... Just getting to the final boss, I was already level 100 a world or two before the final boss.. Kingdom Hearts 2 was a bit odd.. The highest the enemies got was level 50 (so to get to level 100 felt weird.. usually when there's a big level difference, there isn't much exp to gain) However you ended up killing the level 50's so fast you earned levels in minutes. I know thats a tad off-topic but just saying it was half-made by Square Enix. =P

Which final fantasy do you think had the fairest leveling system?

Firstly; it’s Vaan :P
Secondly he super annoys me :x
I tend to have all my characters at the same level, I hate leaving some or one of them far behind in levels. I think the last time I played it all my characters’ levels were around 77, thanks to some accessories that helped me level up quickly. Not that it’s hard to level up, it’s rather too boring to do it … just moving your characters around … :roll. Generally; the battle system in FFXII was very flexible that 4 years old kid can play it easily… probably master it. It should have been made more complicated; that’s all to it. Some people may enjoy a flexible battle system and prefer it over a more complex one and to them this game could be one of the best, but not in my case. RPG battles are about strategy; I don’t see where the strategy factor in this game is.

KH series’ battles themselves were somehow easy, but the battle system in general was great and very enjoyable, better than most of the battle systems in the Final Fantasy series. But I didn’t really bother leveling my characters till 100 :P

Final Fantasy VII had the best battle system of them all, comparing it to the earliest games in the series, which had a medium rated battle system, and considering the time of its release. Personally; my favorite battle system was the one in FFVII. FFIX had a good one also; though some parts in it needs some setting up. I liked that it’s possible to switch between characters in FFX’s battles, but that’s probably the only thing I liked about it. What I hated the most about it was that everyone can learn every ability and magic out there. FFX-2 had a good one also, but it was ruined by other factors in the game… and … FFXI isn’t a real Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy Tactics is certainly one of my favorites; I enjoyed its battle system very much, even though it’s much different than the other battle systems in the Final Fantasy series.

Lol, well first off, thanks for the correction. =P
Second off, none of the characters annoyed me.. I Actually LOVED the dialog, especially in one point where there is literally about 40 mins (in a row) of cut scene.. It's the old-style of speaking and language I think.. And gotta love the times when people actually wore armor without someone saying "Uh, the Renesance (sp?) fare is nowhere near here, loser" lol.

I usually just try to beat the game the first time, then the second time around I'll try to unlock everything. Vaan, Balthier, and Fran was the easiest combo... Though I did like how each person equiped a weapon differently.. Like, they had their own 'fighting stance' with each weapon. IT did however get annoying to walk by a monster, whip out your sword or bow or w/e, attack, kill it, put it away, walk 2 feet into another monster, bring it out again, ect... Just shoulda stayed out with you the entire time, or at least had the option to.

I can't remember the name of the accessory, but I know what you're talking about. It doubles your EXP you get from battles, and also another that doubles the LP (license points) you get.. Which is way too easy to get max by the way.. But I have no idea how you say it's easy to level, just boring... I can kill malboro's with 2-3 attacks.. That means Vahn will strike, then Fran or Balthier will hit with bow (Bow is better than gun or crossbow, honestly) And malboro will die.. That's 7 secs max, for 1,000+ exp, or 2,000+ if you have the double exp accessory equiped... I can get a chain of over 100 and not even be half-way of leveling, and that's at level 82... And the higher level you are, the less exp you get from monsters, and the more exp you need, so to get to level 99 or 100, whichever is max, would be insane. Though I do agree Strategy is needed, it's not really that hard to figure out a strategy.. I mostly have Gambits (Setting the AI of your character) to automatically buff yourself with Protect, Shell, and Haste.. Then use Bravery before some big battle.. You'll gain the MP back before any of those buffs wears off..

I didn't quite like the Materia system. =/ Seemed like too many choices but you were only able to make a couple.. Too many materia to chose from and too few slots lol.

Final Fantasy Tacts is definately pure awesomeness.. Kinda a shame they didnt' remake for the PS2.. I know they have Tactics Advance but nothing beats the original... All those class's, and not to mention the secret dungeons, and the ability to unlock cloud. XD

Wait, didn't Final Fantasy VIII have an unlockable character somewhere? I don't think so but I can't shake the feeling there was. >.<

I also liked the “old-style way of speaking” for none specific reason really, maybe just because it sounds more sophisticated… even though I needed the subtitles to fully understand the dialog. But that doesn’t have much to do with characters developments; Vaan is completely useless, the game started with him having this dream of becoming a sky-pirate or whatever and then he vanished entirely from the story, and even more worthless one is Penelo, why is she there again?

Maybe Final Fantasy XII has those small features which are good, but the main thing wasn’t so it ruined everything. I said before that the concept of its battles is very good and could have been the best, but the gambits and the license board made the game more flexible rather than adding a new developed feature to it, the battles are very slow, especially while trying to cast a spell; it’s probably the only FF game which I use haste in every battle… oh wait; the gambits do that for me. And even still; it takes them forever to cast a spell. I don’t know about you but if the main thing sucks I won’t care about their battle stance or their weapons… having something to cause a decent lose of HP is enough for me.

Yeah, that’s the one; the only accessories which seemed to be actually useful. I used to level up in Necrohol of Nabudis, I think this was its name, the monsters seem to be endless there so it makes leveling up easier, especially when you have those accessories equipped and don't use spells very often to not slow you down, however it gets boring as time goes by since all you do is walk around and your characters get the job done.

True; the original FF Tactics is much better than its sequels, especially FFTA2 which was almost identical to FFTA. The time of great games seem to be over.

I know what you mean! Either they spoke too fast or didn't seem to put that much effort into pronouncing words, and just kinda mashed em all together.. but I think that's alot of why I liked the dialogue.. The old-way of speaking was flawless.. They had the terms down perfectly.. And I like that they talked fast.. It gave it the natural conversation look... Like they have been talking that way forever so it's no big deal, so words just fly out.. Unlike theater/theatre where you may see people actually taking effort into trying to say it as they would back then... I also liked how pretty much everyone wore armor.. If you went to the store wearing armor now you'd probably be arrested for something. XD

Lol, now that you mention it, I agree.. Ashe seemed to be where the story really revolved around.. She got the two legendary swords (Which both may look cool, but both sucked and never actually used them in real combat..) Penelo is just a close friend of Vash.. Almost like a girlfriend. Vash started the dream, then vanished, but came back at the ending where he did actually become a sky pirate. =P in the animation anyways. XD I found it odd that Balthier kept saying how he was the leading man. >.> That was kinda a rip off/copy of the earlier game they did, FFX's "Auron" who always said "This is my story... And you're not a part of it" like in Kingdom Hearts 2.

Gambits was a nice idea.. To be able to set your character to be half human/half comp, with it's own AI on what to do in certain situations.. It was, however, done too well, as you could basically set it 95% computer and 5% human.. 5% being movement.. And even in battles they'll follow the enemy, or if it's set to heal someone, they'll walk to get within range.

I know that some monsters stay hard no matter what level you are.. Your defense is maxed at less than 60 with the best armor (I believe).. The ultimate armor is the Giga armor, which gives you over 100 evasion, however absolutly no defense.. So that was kinda like a gamble.. Flawless victory or death lol. Also that was a flaw.. Defense never increased due to level. =/

And I like the stances.. like Ashe with a Katana reminds me of how Sephiroth weilds his sword lol. Iunno.. I guess I like it because that, combined with the weapon itself, is the ONLY character customization the game had.

A few other accessories are useful... But yeah, that's the main one... Without it, it'd take you twice as long to get to level 99, which is insane.. Seriously.. HAS ANYBODY EVER REACHED LEVEL 99 OR 100 IN FINAL FANTASY XII?

I estimate it'd take well over 250+ hours...Seeing as how past level 75, you level at an extremely slow rate... Mostly because by then, you have the option of finishing the story, so there are no really stronger enemies... Not to mention every level that you increase means more exp needed for the next level, and monsters giving you less. >.>

By the way, that is odd.. So FFXII Was one of my fav RPG's.. Yet.. It didnt' have class's, race's, skills, and minimum character customization along with pre-set builds. (Such as penelo will always be a better spellcaster as, say Fran)

I'm at lvl 99 and I just got to the Ogam-Yensa Sandsea...of course I'm only playing the game so I can have a proper opinion of it so I started using cheatcodes after the prison though before then I was level 90 which was a kill joy...though I did save the game at every part where Vaan gets beaten :twisted its perfect....is it bad to be able to take a nap while playing and not have to worry about your characters y'know dieing.
