It’s easy to instruct your employees on what to do. You have a private office where you can call anyone to give them instructions and objectives to achieve for the week. You can be the kind of boss who keeps ordering people what to do, or you can be someone who helps everyone grow and be better.
Take time to know your employees
Although you already have a lot on your plate, it helps to get to know the people you work with. Don’t be a leader who sees people come and go without even knowing their names. It might take you time to know everyone in the team, but it could benefit you in the end. Establishing a positive relationship with everyone helps you when leading the team. You won’t have a hard time telling people what to do because they like you, both professionally and personally. Getting to know your employees also allows you to know their strengths. You will understand what they’re good at, and you can find a way to use it in doing various tasks in the office.
You will know who among your employees has issues
Sometimes, it’s easy to get angry when employees don’t perform well. You won’t even mind humiliating them. In your mind, they deserve such treatment due to their performance. The truth is that some of these people are going through something. Humiliating them will only make things worse. Therefore, you have to find a way to understand what they’re going through so you can boost their ego. Instead of resorting to anger or humiliation, you will understand the problem and help your employee overcome it.
You don’t want to lead a team that’s not in the mood to work. When the overall spirit is negative, productivity will go down. Therefore, you have to find a way to cheer everyone up. One of the ways that you can do so is by having a funfair. You can check https://www.wearetricycle.co.uk for the list of possible activities that you can have on the day. Everyone will have fun and get energized to do more. Sometimes, it only takes a break to ensure that your employees will do better at their jobs.
Be an inspiration
For some leaders, they feel great when their employees are afraid of them. You don’t want to be that type of leader. You want to be inspirational. Your employees need to respect you not because you’re the boss, but because you deserve it. You can earn the respect of everyone if you also give the respect people deserve in the first place.
Rethink your approach to dealing with the people at work and feel good about your leadership. It’s not easy being on top, but you will feel a lot better when you know that you have an entire team supporting you. It doesn’t mean you should serve as everyone’s counsellor, but it feels great to know your employees on a personal level.
