A New Chapter in Max Payne’s Life

According to Rockstar’s Sam Houser, as quoted earlier from Rockstar Watch (a Rockstar Games Fansite) – “We’re starting a new chapter of Max’s life in this game. This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation.” Indeed and with a lot less hair. Max has seemingly gone for a complete makeover in his older age as he sports a bald head, rough beard and John McClane-esque vest.

The plot for Max Payne 3 sees the lead character move out of New York to São Paulo, Brazil. Set 12 years after the last game Max’s life has gone from bad to worse.

Features of the new game include:

An addiction to painkillers, which will affect gameplay
Set in the slums of Brazil, Payne will face South American urban ghetto villains
There will be fully destructible environments as well as a cover system
Day and night cycles have been added
Bullet time is now “more visceral and ultra-violent”
Online multiplayer action (although details of this are vague for now)
It’s powered by Rockstar’s RAGE technology (as seen in Grand Theft Auto 4)
Despite the vagueness of the actual release date this game is promising to be one of the hits of the year and is eagerly anticipated by gaming fans alike. For exclusive screenshots of the game click here to view the official site. Watch this space!
