Apple’s fans waited for long, alas! There is no news of any improvisation in Apple TV. While hopes were high, that at least this year we would hear something about the up gradation of Apple TV, all expectations came to an end with the end of the conference. For three long years Apple’s streaming-video box has got no change or any kind of up gradation.
This year one of the most discussed and hot topics was the expected up gradation of the Apple TV, as the Cupertino, Calif.-based consumer electronics titan has widely reported about the developing of a new Apple TV box and that it would launch alongside an Internet-delivered television service. In March, Apple cut the price on its current streaming-media box from $99 to $69, a classic signal that a company is clearing out old inventory ahead of a newer version coming down the pipeline.
But as the conference approached, the high hopes to see a new streaming device dimmed. According to reports, Apple couldn’t broker deals with TV programmers to stock the new service with channels in time. So one thing Apple learnt from this incident is that dealing with the country’s hundreds of local stations is not as simple as sealing a deal with few parent companies.
Surprisingly even without any such change or add ups the old Apple TV is working just fine in the market. Even now, though they have failed to satisfy the expectation of people in this year’s conference, the demand of the Apple TV is steadfast, and that is also without any significant marketing or any such new services. And Apple is not such a company who does its job in haste. So when time is ripe it will do the needful, and what we can do is keep our fingers crossed for the next WWDC.
