Review – Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin

The Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is an incredibly rewarding sequel, I must say. It is massive and very smart at the same time. It is equipped with tense encounters, deep systems and also enough clever multiplayer along with New Game Plus elements.

However, among all the good things to adhere about it, not all the tweaks and additions worked the best for me even though it is having great enemies and levels as well to explore and fight with.

Apart from wrapping up the original game, the new iteration does more added with DLC for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It has taken everything from the original version and in a good and workable way like the fantastic combat, the intriguing world and rewarding challenge. The improved adjustments are much appreciated.

The noticeable enhancement is its 1080p, 60-frames-per-second visual upgrade. I must say the upgrade from Xbox 360 and PS3 to Xbox One and PS4 looks nicer than the original PC version.

The enemy placement has been reshuffled too in the new game so as to give some fresh and unfamiliar experience to gamers. For the newcomers it may be a tough entry too to the Souls series.

The Crown Trilogy DLC, which has been very newly added, is now included from the start. If you want to see some of the interesting dungeons, it is through the Crown of the Sunken King. The dungeons have smart puzzles, twisting paths and also tons of interactive environments.

Verdict

Visual enhancement is much appreciable and reshuffled enemy placement delivers powerful dose. Some special type of tortures can be seen in it and as a whole it is a better version than predecessor. Even though it is tougher, but it is worth.
