Metatag descriptions don’t help in rankings
This is very much true these days. No more a site can depend on the metatags for rankings on Google and Bing search engines. However, even many SEO experts say this, it is not suggested to avoid it appears in the search results and the more compelling description helps in bringing more users to your site compared to other sites in the same search results.
Inbound links no more better if more
Yes, it is being said by many experts that gone are the days when more inbound links mean better rankings of the website. In the recet updates to Google’s algorithm the core priority is the quality of inbound links instead of quantity. In fact huge quantity not-so-good inbound links may look spammy and get the website penalized on search engines.
It is suggested to focus on such inbound links that come from sites in line with the website, such as which are offering similar services, similar products or are from similar industry. A website for car information should get inbound links from those websites or blogs who are offering products or services from automobile industry.
PageRank still matters
The infamous PageRank of Google still exists even though many claims the latest algorithm of the search engine has put it to end. The PageRank has direct link to SEO professionals. For them it is better to have inbound links from average PR website on same industry than to opt for PR7 or PR8 websites of another industry.
Keyword-rich domains does not matter
Gone are the days when Google use to give extra benefit to websites having keyword-rice domain. Now it is not relevant. So, never be sad if you don’t get good domain name that may contain keywords of your industry.
Submitting website to search engines not required
Earlier it was important, say around 10 years ago, but now it is not a compulson to submit your website on search engines. In today’s Internet era if your site has any connection from any site, your website will be indexed by its own on search engines.
