2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.0T Review

Hyundai has completely redesigned its Sonata Sport 2.0T of 2015. Not a single part of the previous years was left untouched in this seventh generation for the series. It now stands tall as a tough challenge to the mid-size sedan segment Honda Accord, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry.

What’s New?

It is all-new car and so everything on it is new. It has new exterior look and the cabin is larger. However, the fresh variant has dropped some horsepower that may not be liked by many. It has less torque too compared to the previous year model.

Features

The important feature to mention here are the panoramic sunroof, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, rear parking assist, power passenger seat, drivers memory seat and mirrors, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, Infinity speakers and LED interior lighting, and navigation as well.

The standard features include HID headlamps, three-bar sport grille, steering wheel paddle shifters, sport front bumper cover, rear diffuser, 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels and leather-wrapped, quad chrome-tipped exhausts, and D-shaped steering wheel.

Interior features

The interior is made up of full of soft touch materials. The quality has been improved compared to the previous model. The 2015 Sonata features sport seats with several bolstering to keep passengers firm in ride through spirited curvy mountain road. For easy scan and legibility the instrumental panel has been recreated. The steering wheel is equipped with a flattened bottom similar to that found in sports cars. More upscale interior can be felt from the optional navigation system that features an 8-inch touchscreen. Also, the cabin is bigger than predecessor with more room in the back.

Engine, Fuel Mileage

The car comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine offering 245 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The outgoing model had offered 274 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. In terms of fuel economy it offers 26 mpg combined and 23/32 city/highway mpg. The previous model had 22 mpg in city and 34 mpg on the highway. Its 2.0-liter turbo engine is mated to 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Price

The car is priced tagged $28,575 with Ultimate Package of $4,950. The total MSRP including destination is $34,460.

Verdict

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T is more comfortable, quieter, and also more refined compared to the outgoing model. The material quality has been improved too.
