Spotify Launches New Touch Preview Feature

There were several ups and downs for Spotify last year but with the start of 2015 the company has come up with a beautiful offer to its 10 million paid subscribers called Touch Preview.

The Touch Preview is not a new feature of the platform but a subtle change to the user interface.

Spotify Launches New Touch Preview Feature

Last year Spotify removed similar feature in which users were able to preview 30-second clips on the Discovery section after redesign of the app. However, product manager Miles Lennon announced they have come up with a better preview feature after a year of work.

A simple tap and holding up will activate the 30-second preview of Spotify. After activating, simply dragging up of finger up or down through song list will make the app jump to next 30-second clup.

As the finger slides while dragging the rectangular box in the app containing artist information and song title fades to lighter shades and it turns lighter grey. Dragging it either to the bottom or top of the screen will do the needful.

If the selected preview is to be queued, simply right swipe will do and it will be added to the collection.

The best thing of the new feature is its outstandingly simple procedure. Lennon said this procedure will become a big part on how users eventually navigate mobile version of the app.
