The 41st annual People’s Choice Awards was held on Thursday at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre LA Live. It is the only Holloywood awards that is completely based on the opinion of publich and not on the votes of industry. The nominations are based on social media activity, music sales, box-office grosses, national ratings averages and online votes.
The favorite male artist award was grabbed by Ed Sheeran for his album “X.” Maroon 5 won favorite group category, Lady Antebellum as favorite country group, Hunter Hayes as favorite male country artist, Carrie Underwood as favorite female country artist, Iggy Azalea as favorite hip-hop artist and Pharrell Williams as favorite rhythm and blues artist.
The favorite television crime drama award went to ABC’s “Castle” and Nathan Fillion became the favorite television crime drama actor. In the female category it was time for Stana Katic to rejoice.
ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” too was in the winning list. It grabbed four People’s Choice awards in categories favorite dramatic television actor for Patrick Dempsey, favorite dramatic telesivion actress for Ellen Pompeo, favorite character and favorite network television drama.
The favorite television show and favorite network television comedy were awarded to CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory.” Kaley Cuoco grabbed the award of favorite comedic TV actress.
