Honda Jazz is one of the most awaited cars of 2015.
Launch Date: The Jazz is finally coming out on the 8th of July. Having already had a first innings, Honda Jazz is coming out in a second avatar. The premium hatch segment is doing well and the Jazz will be a tough competitor in the space.
Specification: The edgy styling and extrovert lines have been the reason why the Jazz has got a lot more presence than the previous version. It is longer and Honda has kept the mini MPV look intact. The narrow headlamps and the oversized grille are crafted perfectly. At the rear, the big LED tail-lamps come with a lot of chrome. Other details include a tailgate spoiler and 15 inch alloys.
The interiors take a lot of inspiration from the Honda City. The cabin is clean and uncluttered. The steering wheel is sporty, while the centre-console is orderly. The blue-toned dials look nice with the Eco Assist feature. The top-end spec Jazz has a 6.2 inch touch screen with various features like Navigation, camera display, DVD playback while elsewhere you have steering controls, touch screen and Auto AC controls.

The large glass windows make the cabin airy. The legroom is class best. The physical dimensions of the Honda Jazz are 3900 mm length, 1695 mm width, 1535 mm height and 2500 mm wheel base. The 2015 version will be 60 mm longer and will have 80 mm added wheel base to make the cabin comfortable. The suspensions are the McPherson strut type at the front and the torsion beam axle at the rear. The boot volume expected is 430 litres. Available on the top-end trim level this feature enables the cargo space to increase to 881 litres with the 2nd row tucked away plus the seats fold flat or flip up (magic seat feature).
The engine line-up includes a diesel i-DTEC diesel engine that generates 99 bhp of power and a torque of 200 Nm and a 1.2 i-VTEC petrol that generates the 89 bhp and a maximum torque of 110 Nm. The diesel has a 6-speed manual while the petrol comes with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT autobox. The diesel unit is the same engine that has powered the Amaze, Mobilio and City. The mileages expected are 12.6 kmpl for petrol and 16.7 kmpl for diesel. Power delivery is smooth, the drive is effortless and the Jazz has a light steering and clutch.
Honda Jazz Price: The Honda Jazz is expected to be priced Rupees 5.0 to 8.0 lakh.
The Jazz will face competition from the likes of the Maruti Swift, the Volkswagen Polo, the Hyundai i20 and the Fiat Punto.
