Today, many people are in the habit of consuming many cups of coffee in a single day. Some people simply drink because they are addicted to caffeine, while some take simply to spend free time. Basically caffeine contains andenosine receptors that are directly stimulates the central nervous system. This way caffeine actually contracts the brain cells and makes people feel like relaxing and relieving stress. On the other hand too much caffeine consumption could work vice versa, and causes symptoms like mild to minor headache, nausea and anxiety.
The effect of caffeine on mental health could be found different in different people. There are several other things in the coffee that have either positive or some negative health on the mental health. For many years, scientists and researchers are trying to find the impact of caffeine in the mental health and still they have not arrived to any conclusion.
A few years back, there was a wonderful study conducted on the group of people of different age groups in order to ascertain the impact of caffeine in their mental health.
Toxicity and in toxicity
Caffeine has both toxic and nontoxic effects on the human brain. The presence of adenosine is so strong in the caffeine that it makes an either a toxic effect or a non toxic effect in the brain. Though, adenosine is not only the substance responsible for this effect on the brain, in fact, there are several other compound chemicals in the brain that makes either a positive or a negative impact in the brain cells after the consumption of coffee.
The central nervous system stimulates by caffeine making a person either suffer from the symptoms of anxiety, depression, insomnia or breathlessness. When the stimulant strongly binds them to the brain receptors than they provide lighter effect and the person feels relaxed, with lowering stress level, calmness and mood swings.
Apart from this the researcher has figured out that caffeine has a different impact on the mental health of the people with different age groups.
The adults who are 30 plus are more likely to get addicted to caffeine in comparison to the teens or youths below 20 years who have very rare chances of getting addicted to caffeine. One of the reasons behind this is that the brain chemicals and compounds tend to expand and increase their fluid levels with the body growth. The teen brains have relatively less secretion of chemical compounds than the adult brain, therefore the brain receptors are weak in teens and thus brain could not able to judge the addiction towards the caffeine.
For many years the debate has been going on, whether the consumption of caffeine is good for mental health or not? While some say’s that caffeine consumption is good at stimulating the brain receptors to help brain in good state. While some say’s that taking the help of caffeine in stimulating brain receptors has never been a good idea. Though, still many people enjoy coffee every day without any troubles.
