Entertainment over Education

Center For Puppetry Arts- This Atlanta treasure has been around for many years and, while guests will learn about the history of puppets and their many uses, ca take classes and can attend workshops, for many the primary focus would be on the performances. Each season there are a variety of family friendly programs featuring puppets that are as diverse in their appearances as they are in the puppeteer’s personalities.

Zoo Atlanta – Zoo Atlanta is one of the most impressive zoos in America. In fact, it is only 1 of 4 American zoos to have giant pandas. The Zoo is also home to one of the nation’s largest collections of Western Lowland gorillas. Other exhibits include a large collection of reptiles and 15 varieties of African birds.

World of Coca-Cola – Get a taste of “The Real Thing” and learn the history of this all –American icon. From its early years to now, visitors will see the story of Coke through an assortment of memorabilia and film clips and by watching long-forgotten Coke commercials. Be sure to have a picture taken with the polar bear and sample cola from around the world.

Six Flags over Georgia-From roller coasters to flying ships, free falling to swings, rides for the younger set and great entertainment, Six Flags is a great family activity. Visitors will find the live entertainment, games, concerts and many other attractions to be a great way to reconnect and relax.

Education over Entertainment

The Fernbank Museum of Natural History features dioramas, interactive displays, IMAX films on science, nature and history, re-creations of the state’s various topography, a scene entitled “Giants of the Mesozoic” which features the world’s largest dinosaur and many other displays that are sure to educate as well as entertain guests of every age.

The Georgia Aquarium – Here guests will be delighted by the world’s largest aquarium. Along the tour, visitors will be enthralled watching sharks and sea horse, horse shoe crabs and sting rays, whales and manatees and numerous other animals of the deep.

Guests will also enjoy the interactive pools that encourage touching the animals, the 4-D theatre which shows the 3 D film and special multi-sensory experience of “Deepo’s Undersea 3-D Water Show. In addition to the film, tickets can also be purchased for a special Behind the Scenes tour of the aquarium to learn more about the exhibits, galleries, and sea animals who live here.
